Transfer, Renew or Replace Vehicle Registration Credentials

No matter what the reason, whether you need your vehicle auto tags renewed, plate was damaged, your license plate was stolen or any other situation we have it covered. Just come in with all the owners and bring us your DL or ID card, insurance card and old owners’ card and we can get your credentials. Feel free to call us with any question before you come in. 

F-Stops and Vehicle Registration Restoration

 If you go with out Insurance for more than 30 days, PennDOT will suspend you license plate. We can get it restored. 

• Show current proof of Insurance

• Pay required restoration fee

• Surrender plate and wait 90 days or

• Wait 90 days from when tag expired or Pay $500 Civil Penalty

• Pay $500 restoration fee.

In transit tags

For a Non-Pennsylvania resident to take their purchased vehicle back to their home state they will need to have an instransit tag. This tag will be valid for 60 days after its issue date. Bring in your DL or ID and out of state insurance as well as the PA title.

Transferring Vehicle Ownership

To get all the information transferred to the new party you will need to come in and bring us the following items: 

Selling

  • Must have a PA ID or PA Driver’s License for all owners
  • Vehicle Title
  • Odometer reading
  • Should have Bill of Sale
  • If vehicle is titled in a business or corporation or llc , you must provide Proof of Pa Business ( i.e Pa Corporation Papers)
  • Proper Authority to sign for the business

Buying

  • PA Driver’s License or PA ID
  • Proof of insurance
  • Title to Vehicle

Transfer Tag

  • PA License or PA ID
  • Registration card for the tag to be transferred
  • All owners of the plate must be present
  • Insurance

Out-of-state purchases

In addition to previous information -

  • Bring in the vehicle so we can verify the VIN#
  • If you are unable to bring in the vehicle you can try to get a tracing of the vin plate or have a MV-41 form signed by an inspection mechanic or police office. 
  • (Depending on where the vehicle is located we can have a notary verify the vin# for additional Fees)
